Vermilion River Ruins
Here we are still in Minnesota touring with our daughter... We stopped to get some drinks in Vermilion at a downtown C-store. So we asked what there was to see close by. We were close to the Vermilion river falls and park. The small river flows from the west drops over some significant falls before flowing into the Mighty Mississippi. So also does Minnehaha Creek not far north of this spot. We had a nice walk and were led to the ruins of a grist mill hidden in the woods along the river bank. Only parts of the towering walls were still standing in the river; reaching from the rivers edge to well above our heads. This is a history it would be nice to know a little more about. It was October 14th last year. The sign in the bottom right indicated the Minnesota River Trail bike path.
