Center of Drawing. Large tree across pond. Lower left branch running horizontal has a dark spot on it that approximates the scale of this bird. At first I figured it was a large red tail waiting for the morning thermals. They are seen fairly often. Not so. This bird sat there for over 30 min as I circumnavigated the lake and stopped on the east for some sketching as the sun inched up through the hedgerow.
Is there a bald eagle in the thumb from Jan 13? I couldn't tell for sure.
