Delaware Uphill

Here is another one from Delaware Street in Lawrence. This India ink line drawing was done a couple years ago. Not a "cityscape," what would you call it, a "town scape". A straightforward perspective of the east side of Lawrence. I am sure though that this haphazard perspective would probably not satisfy the exacting eye of Betsy McCordic our Prairie High Art teacher . (And some others perhaps!) Oh well, the end here was some spontaneous interpretation of an interesting view of an historical part of town. I have drawn nearly every building along these 2 blocks of Delaware. This particular drawing may tell us more about the layout of the street than any of the others. I hope you enjoy it.  The Murphy-Bromelsick house is just across the street to the east of this in the next block south.

  1. Great to see these old homes you have drawn before they no longer exist. Such beauty and history in these old homes.
